Our Solution

A contemporary timber frame house that explores how modern architecture and construction techniques can be successfully integrated into sensitive historic contexts.

The Design

The planning process took twelve months of negotiation in order to reach an approved design. In order to minimise upset and meet planning requirements we opted for a more traditional building form, using carefully chosen materials to help it sit within the existing environment whilst still feeling like a contemporary home.

By using timber frame we were not only able to solve difficult structural and engineering issues, but it made it easier for materials to be delivered to site. It also means the finished home is more sustainable and durable.
