Our Solution

Stripping back unnecessary features and reinstalling some of the original charm to create an elegant, light-filled family home.

The Design

Old interiors were stripped back, before the original bannister (that we found in the garage) was restored to link the property together again.

The final design scheme used a mezzanine to create a visual connection between floor spaces, and allowed light to filter across all the living areas. Where possible original features were restored to help elevate the space and soften the more contemporary elements. The work was split into stages, reducing disruption for the family who lived on-site during the building works.

When reinstalling a single set of services we opted for an air-source heat pump system. This provides warmth and water at a cost equal to regular gas heating but with a much lower environmental cost despite the buildings lack of insulation.
